KO Series Day 3 Recap
KO Series #13-HR: $100K Gtd 8-Max Fast
- Buy-in: $1,050
- Entrants: 145
- Prize pool: $147,900
- Places paid: 20
A field of 145 players battled to finish in the top 20 of the KO Series #13-HR: $100K Gtd 8-Max Fast event so they could get their hands on the lion’s share of the $147,900 prize pool, picking up bounty payments along the way.
By the time the eight-handed final table was set, nobody would walk away with less than $2,325 from the main prize pool, and at least $1,625 worth of bounties to boot.
Only two players collected more bounties than the eventual champion. “Paulnew07” of Malta got their hands on $5,923 from the bounty prize pool in addition to their $9,303 third-place prize.
Runner-up “JimyTransaction” of Costa Rica was the other big bounty winner, scooping $7,056 worth of scalps in addition to their $12,785 second-place prize.
The champion was Finland’s “rdcrsnn” who walked away with the $12,800 top prize plus a cool $18,236 worth of bounties, a figure so high thanks to them securing their own bounty by being the last player standing. $31,036 for a few hours playing poker is not bad work if you can get it.
KO Series #12-HR: $100K Gtd 8-Max
- Buy-in: $530
- Entrants: 301
- Prize pool: $154,262
- Places paid: 40
The KO Series #12-HR: $100K Gtd 8-Max event saw a heads-up battle between two players who appear to have left their fingers on their keyboards too long when creating their usernames!
Second-place eventually went to “Beeeeetelgeuse” from Denmark, a finish worth $11,280 plus $2,723 from the bounty prize pool. The Dane lost to Dutch player “SHHHHHHHHHH77” (that’s 10x H) in the final battle of the tournament to lock up an $11,835 first-place prize that was boosted by $19,285 from the bounty prize pool.
KO Series #12-H: $100K Gtd 8-Max
- Buy-in: $109
- Entrants: 1,211
- Prize pool: $125,944
- Places paid: 152
After “SHHHHHHHHHH77” took down the KO Series #12-HR: $100K Gtd 8-Max event, another Dutch player was crowned a KO Series champion in the KO Series #12-H: $100K Gtd 8-Max tournament.
“ElPatron90” outlasted a field of 1,211 players in the $109 buy-in event to secure an $8,149 first-place prize plus $9,726 worth of bounties, including that previously on the head of Poland’s “ginger_master” who finished second for $8,137 and $2,702 worth of scalps.
The difference in bounty payments between first and second-place shows how important working on your heads-up game is if you play PKO tournaments regularly. The new MyGame feature in the partypoker lobby will soon be able to help you with this!
